The first baby with the serious congenital immune disease SCID has been successfully treated at Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) with stem cell gene therapy as part of the RECOMB project. An important milestone: it is the first stem cell gene therapy in the Netherlands that has been administered to a patient and the first worldwide for this form of SCID. The disease has been cured thanks to this therapy and the patient is doing well. Read the article here.
